Proud sponsor of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018
Fidelity was proud to be an Official Supporter of the Invictus Games held in Sydney in October 2018.
Founded by HRH The Duke of Sussex in 2014, the Invictus Games uses the healing power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who serve their country. The Games also recognise the critical role played by family and friends. “Invictus” is Latin for unconquered, and it embodies the fighting spirit and resilience of our service personnel.
Building better futures
The Invictus Games Sydney 2018 was an ideal partner for Fidelity. Our focus on creating healthy futures for our customers is wholly aligned with the vision of the Games to empower competitors to not be defined by their injuries.
Alva Devoy, Managing Director at Fidelity International in Australia, said it was an easy decision to support Invictus Games Sydney 2018.
“The integrity, passion and resilience of these competitors is an inspiration to both staff and our customers. We see this partnership as an opportunity for our employees to better understand the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity and to learn about the healing power of sport. The Games can help all of us to foster a can-do attitude and challenge us to not just survive but thrive.”
Fidelity already has a relationship with wounded warrior organisations in the UK, such as Walking with the Wounded, and the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 sponsorship cemented our commitment to veteran programs.
The inaugural Invictus Games was held in London in 2014, followed by Orlando in 2016 and Toronto in 2017. The fourth Games was held in Sydney from 20-27 October 2018, where 500 competitors from 18 nations competed over eight days.
