As part of a collaborative investor group, Fidelity engaged with Origin Energy on its climate transition planning, renewable energy investments and approach to reducing emissions.
When there was uncertainty about whether the company would refresh its plan, Fidelity supported the preparation of a letter to the Board encouraging Origin Energy to publish an updated plan and give shareholders an opportunity to express their views through an advisory vote.
Origin Energy subsequently published an updated Climate Transition Action Plan and presented it for an advisory vote at its Annual General Meeting in October 2025, where it received 94.67% shareholder support.
We welcomed this outcome, which provided investors with greater visibility of Origin Energy’s climate strategy and an opportunity to formally express their views. We will continue to monitor the company’s progress and reporting over time.
