At Fidelity, we have committed to more than 20 clear and measurable sustainability targets for 2024, to guide us, and to force us to be accountable for our actions. These fall under four pillars: the environment, the workplace, our supply chain and the community.
Let’s start with the environment. Everybody watching this video will be aware of the urgency for all of us to be part of the solution around the climate crisis. And we’re committed to doing our part, by using less - less energy, less business travel, less of everything we can manage while still delivering the results that our clients expect.
Turning to the workplace, as with any business, we want to have a diverse workforce, one that really fosters diversity of thought, of backgrounds, and of experiences. Hence, we’re committed to improving the diversity of our workforce. It’s also important to create the right conditions to tap into that diversity of talent, by creating an environment in which everybody feels included and that their voices are heard.
If I turn to our suppliers, we want to partner with organisations that grow as we grow, in a sustainable way. And hence when we select providers whom we want to build long-term relationships, their own commitment to sustainability is absolutely key for us.
Finally, when we think about our community, we all want to live and work in vibrant communities where everybody can thrive. And part of that is taking that extra responsibility for those who may need more support than others. So we want to contribute actively to the success of the communities in which we operate.
Working in asset management puts us in a privileged position as stewards of our clients’ capital, and it is imperative that we use that position to build better financial futures, on behalf of our clients and for all our stakeholders, in a way that reflects their core values, and ours.
