Important notice
We have recently been made aware of an impersonation scam where scammers pretending to be from Fidelity make offers of employment with Fidelity. This is an attempt to lure people into participating in a scam that involves defrauding people and laundering the proceeds of those crimes.
In other instances, Fidelity employees such as Anthony Bolton have directly been impersonated. Deepfake videos are used to make the content appear more realistic and appear that the investment recommendations provided are legitimate. This activity is fraudulent and not in any way affiliated to Fidelity or Anthony Bolton.
Please be vigilant and if you are contacted by someone claiming to be from Fidelity consider the following:
- Be sceptical of unsolicited employment offers or investment opportunities, no matter how credible they appear. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
- Fidelity will never cold call you to offer you a job for which you have not applied.
- Fidelity will never direct you to join a WhatsApp or Telegraph group.
- Always check contact details through official channels - not through links in emails, messages or adverts.
- Avoid urgency. Scammers rely on rushed decisions - take your time and ask questions
If you ever see something that appears to come from us, but you suspect it isn’t - don’t act in the moment. Please contact us through the Get in touch section of our website or call our Customer Services team on 1800 044 922. More information of how to stay safe online can be found here.
